This website is meant to build on the genealogical work already done in the past years of tracing the descendents of Yong Nyat Lin, a Chinese of the Hakka dialect who lived in Sabah (then called British North Borneo) in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Copies of the latest draft have been circulated to various families, and it is hoped that by putting some of the content online, many more relatives will have access to the information and perhaps new strands of the family tree history may be uncovered.
Ultimately the purpose of genealogy and the documentation of family histories will allow current and future generations belonging to this family to better understand their ancestry and current family relationships.
